Unleash Your Unique Advantage

This book is for the phenomenal women who work in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM).

As a young woman transitioning into the workplace or progressing in her career, you may find yourself faced with startling statistics relating to the underrepresentation of women in STEM careers.

This may cause you to feel like you do not belong, especially if you find yourself in a workplace that does not value gender diversity, equality, and inclusivity. Be assured that you are not alone and that many of us have walked a similar path to the one you are on.

This book offers a collection of lessons learned from navigating a career in STEM. It is a roadmap of some of the lessons the women who have gone before you have learned to help make your unique journey a little bit easier. It offers insights and advice on how to navigate your career, build your network, set goals, face your fears, embrace failure in order to grow, and ultimately find your voice as a woman in STEM.

It is also a message of hope. There are many challenges we face as women in STEM, but there is a wave of change coming, and you have the opportunity to be part of it. By the time you finish reading this book, you may believe that you can achieve your wildest dreams as you unleash your unique advantage.

SAICE Growing Forward: Diversity & Inclusion

Contribute towards the transformation of the Civil Engineering industry through increasing awareness, promoting dialogue, conducting research, and establishing best practice guidelines on issues of diversity, inclusion, and belonging, as it pertains to the civil engineering industry.

In this video she explains the role of the project manager as responsible for the day-to-day management of the project and the reason why we always see and hear about failed projects in terms of end outputs, explaining the six aspects of project management, the scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources.

Project managers work on specific projects that have definite outcomes, have time limits, and have to stay within a budget so the video gives perspectives in a case scenario which I find very fascinating and easy to learn from.
